Our Mission

The Bulldog Wrestling Club mission is to provide a rewarding youth sports experience for children in the Wilmington area, using the values taught through sport of wrestling.

About Our Club

Welcome to the Bulldog Wrestling Club.  We were established in 2006 by several former high school and college wrestlers and coaches (Jerry Lamey, Nick Mottola, Mike Rossi, and Vince Marcozzi) to expand the availability of the sport of wrestling in the Wilmington area.  Our program is focused on children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grades.  The Bulldogs are currently part of the Inter County Wrestling League (ICWL), a league of over forty teams primarily in Southeastern PA and one of the largest youth wrestling leagues in the United States.

Our experienced coaching staff emphasizes technique, conditioning, and sportsmanship in a fun, energetic, and safe atmosphere for your children.

Why Wrestle?

"IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT, IT'S THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG" - Mark Twain

Wrestling prepares a person to fight the game of life.  The wrestler is the one athlete that must meet their opponent and do battle completely on their own.  No one can substitute: no time outs are possible.  They have no one to check, screen, block, or assist them in any way.  There is no one to blame for their mistakes.  When they win, they must show quiet pride and modesty.  When they lose, the responsibility is theirs.  Wrestling is a true sport.  In other sports, when contact is made, they blow the whistle to stop the action; In wrestling, when contact is made, we're just getting started.  No other sport requires more sacrifice than wrestling.  The Wrestler, through hard work and commitment, offers more of their character than can ever be explained.  It is something they carry with them through life...through every trial, test, and tribulation.
