Alex Whittaker


Coach Photo

Coach Alex grew up in Newark, Delaware and began wrestling in 1st grade for Holy Angels’ wrestling club.  Alex wrestled for The Independence School during middle school and wrestled for The Tatnall School for 4 years in high school.  Alex was co-captain and state qualifier his senior year.  This will be his 6th year helping coach the Wilmington Bulldogs. 

Jeff Schwarz

Jeff grew up in Wilmington DE. Started wrestling in 8th grade at skyline Jr High winning the conference championship. 

Continued wrestling for Dickinson high school as a 3 year starter. Tri captain Sr year before injuries shortened the season. 

Wrestled one year at Delaware under Coach Billy. 

Officiated wrestling 3 years while in college. Coached at the high school level both at Dickinson and Ferris. 

2nd year Bulldog novice coach.

Jeff Pelly

Coach Jeff grew up in Claymont De and wrestled at Brandywine HS.  He knows the fundamentals and enjoys helping the kids keep it basic, to the point and simple - while teaching leverage.  

 

This will be coach Jeff’s 3rd year assisting with the Bulldogs program. His philosophy on coaching is to be able to help young athletes become one percent better everyday, both on and off the mat.

Dylan Coulbourn

Coach Dylan is entering his 3rd year as head coach of The Tatnall School wrestling program.  He is in the process of transforming the program back into its glory days in the late 60's and late 80's.  Using his William Penn roots (where he wrestled)  - as well as wrestling for bulldog club and Tyrant wrestling, he brings tremendous tactical knowledge and strenght training to the club.  Dylan's coaching career stared at Glasgow High in 2015 where he spent 3 years as an assistant coach.  Dylan coaches Football, Baseball and Wrestling at Tatnall. 

Rich Metz

Rich is from Chicago and started wrestling in High School and was a 3 time State Qualifier.  He is active in the community coaching soccer and baseball as well at both the local and travel level. 

In college, he competed in lacrosse and hockey where he continued to play semi-pro lacrosse for 7 years after college. 

This will be Rich’s 3rd year in the Bulldog Organization.
